Srinagar, famously known as 'Heaven on Earth', is the largest city and the summer capital of the Indian-administered union territory of Jammu and Kashmir. It lies in the Kashmir Valley on the banks of the Jhelum River, a tributary of the Indus, and Dal and Anchar lakes.

Srinagar is also called the city of lakes and the Venice of the East, is famous for its natural beauty, gardens, waterfronts, houseboat, adventure activities, cultural beauty, and romantic vacation. Srinagar is also famous for the Kashmiri shawls, Kashmiri apples and the dried fruits (almonds and walnuts).
